Self-discipline is often misunderstood or at the very least, means different things to different people. To some it means being rigid, structured and sticking to a plan. To others it means the ability to say ‘no’.

We often think of self-discipline as a binary thing; something we either have or don’t have, particularly in areas like diet and exercise.

The dictionary definition of self-discipline though is “Discipline and training of oneself, usually for improvement.”
